Basketball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Takes a Loss

Sierra Lutheran lost against Battle Mountain back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sierra Lutheran Falcons lost 63-39 to the Battle Mountain Longhorns. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Battle Mountain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Geovanni Ruvalcaba, who went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayne Hall, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points along with five boards and five steals.

Sierra Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Battle Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Lutheran will welcome Portola at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Portola's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games. As for Battle Mountain, they will host North Tahoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Battle Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
