West Central was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Hebron on Tuesday. The West Central Trojans claimed a resounding 65-9 win over the Hebron Hawks. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.
West Central found their leader in sophomore Madisyn DeMoss, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 15 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. DeMoss is becoming a predictor of West Central's success: when she posts at least three blocks the team is 7-1 (and 4-5 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Mellon, who posted ten points and three steals.
West Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hebron only posted two assists.
With the victory, West Central broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-6. As for Hebron, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Central will challenge North Newton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hebron, they will take on South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
