Football Recap: Nelson vs. Sherwood Bowmen
Nelson and Sherwood squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Nelson had to settle for second. They lost 42-21 to the Sherwood Bowmen. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Nelson couldn't quite close it out.
It was another big night for Wilson Medina, who rushed for 181 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry for Sherwood. Medina has been hot , having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Bell, who threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.
Nelson moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Sherwood, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Nelson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sherwood, they will square off against West Linn on Friday. West Linn will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
