Baseball Preview: St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse vs. Touchet Redhawks        
        
		
            
 St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse will head out on the road to  challenge  the Touchet Redhawks at 2:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse and three for Touchet.
 Two weeks ago, St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse fell victim to a  tough 13-5 loss at the hands of Pomeroy.
  Matthew DeFord was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  5.1 innings while giving up  four earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). DeFord has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. DeFord was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Wade Gribble made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Touchet's offense. They suffered a  rough 22-0 defeat at the hands of Liberty Christian  last Saturday.
 St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Touchet, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-1.
 St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse suffered a grim  12-1 defeat to Touchet  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023. Can St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
