After a string of three wins, Lovett's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Cherokee Bluff Bears by a score of 56-54. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Bears are ranked 11th).

Lovett's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Cherokee Bluff, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Lovett won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Gwinnett at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions will be up against the Comets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.38 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cherokee Bluff, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oak Hills on the 29th.
