Walker skates past Thibodaux with ease

Recap: Walker Wildcats vs. Thibodaux Tigers

On Friday, the Walker Wildcats faced the Thibodaux Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Walker took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 56-13 victory over Thibodaux. Walker might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Walker's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leah Eddards led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 5 steals. The matchup was Eddards' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jamiya Vann, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals.

The win (which was Walker's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Thibodaux, their loss dropped their record down to 5-1.

Walker's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Destrehan at 10:15 a.m. on December 2nd. Destrehan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Walker is ranked fifth). As for Thibodaux, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodlawn-B.R. at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Woodlawn-B.R. is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
