Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Belaire

The Central Wildcats will square off against the Belaire Bengals at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 goals last Saturday, they were much more limited against Zachary on Saturday. They came up short against the Broncos, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Belaire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to McKinley. The match was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Bengals it sure didn't stay that way.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-1. As for Belaire, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Central suffered a grim 7-2 defeat to Belaire in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
