Basketball Recap: Hughes Springs Takes a Loss

Hughes Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Avinger Indians. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1215th, while the Indians are ranked 299th).

Hughes Springs' loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Avinger, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Hughes Springs will be home for the holidays to greet Campbell at 5:00 p.m. on December 17th. Hughes Springs is facing Campbell at the right time seeing as Campbell is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Avinger, they will venture away from home to take on Marshall Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
