There's no place like home for Iowa-Grant, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  9-7  win over the Fennimore Golden Eagles  on Thursday. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered  a  7-5  loss the last time these two teams met.
 Lakyn Holman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and five unearned) runs on ten hits.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Pajessa Baker, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with four  stolen bases and three  runs.  Carly Shores was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with five  RBI and one  run.
Iowa-Grant has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Fennimore, they moved to 8-2 with that  defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Iowa-Grant is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Boscobel  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Fennimore will  square off against  rival Mineral Point  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
