It was a good run, but Mesquite unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Canyon del Oro Dorados by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dorados earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Despite the loss, Mesquite saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Deliliah Nielsen had 14 assists and three digs.

Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Canyon del Oro, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Mesquite has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Rincon/University on the 20th. As for Canyon del Oro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Salpointe Catholic on the 20th.
