Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delano). They blew past the McFarland Cougars 17-7 on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Armando Nunez and Nathaniel Cavazos did most of the damage at the plate: Nunez scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances, while Cavazos scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave Nunez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Ramirez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-5.
Delano's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-10. As for McFarland, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.
