League recap: Bronxville surprises Tuckahoe

Bronxville scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Tuckahoe, 7-0. At the time, the Tigers were ranked 16th in the state, while the Broncos were 151st.

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tuckahoe, who took down 16th ranked Tuckahoe, 7-0.

Yonkers Montessori Academy's dynamic duo of George Figueroa and Robert Atkins proved tough for Albertus Magnus to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Figueroa threw for 122 yards and one touchdown and Atkins had 119 yards receiving. Brian Matias helped Yonkers Montessori Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 13 yards.

Jakob Calvini provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Rye Neck bested Hastings. He completed one pass for 55 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 152 yards. Calvini's favorite target this week was Ryan Morningstar, who caught one pass for 55 yards.

5-foot-9 quarterback Figueroa of Yonkers Montessori Academy is the league leader in passing yards this season with 404. He has also thrown three touchdowns. On the ground, the Falcons' Nico Denise has rushed for 686 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is JUSTIN MAYETTE. The Pawling star has 13 catches for 316 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Woodlands takes on the Tigers. The Falcons are in first place, while Tuckahoe is in third place.

Figueroa and Atkins provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Albertus Magnus. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 63 yards.
