Softball Game Preview: Egyptian Pharaohs vs. Cobden Appleknockers

The Egyptian Pharaohs will square off against the Cobden Appleknockers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses dating back to last season for Egyptian and three for Cobden.

Egyptian played against Dongola on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Cobden came up short against Century on Tuesday, falling 17-6.

Alivia Kilpatrick made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Natalie Franklin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Egyptian's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cobden, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Egyptian took their win against Cobden when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-5 score. Do the Pharaohs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Appleknockers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
