Basketball Recap: Redlands East Valley Piles Up the Points Against Palm Springs

A well-balanced attack led Redlands East Valley over Palm Springs in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Redlands East Valley Wildcats blew the Palm Springs Indians out of the water with a 55-24 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-9.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shayla Bates, who posted six points and ten rebounds. Bates is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rose Wells, who put up eight points and ten rebounds.

Redlands East Valley pushed their record up to 9-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Palm Springs, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.

Redlands East Valley will look to defend their home court on January 7, 2025 against Cajon at 7:00 p.m. As for Palm Springs, they will head out on the road to take on Shadow Hills at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Shadow Hills will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Palm Springs surely won't give up without a fight.
