Basketball Recap: Elmwood Comes Up Short

Elmwood was the 67-35 winner over Bushnell-Prairie City when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Elmwood Trojans fell just short of the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans by a score of 48-46 on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Trojans came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Spartans are ranked 473rd).

Elmwood's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Bushnell-Prairie City, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5.

Elmwood will welcome Princeville at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bushnell-Prairie City, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
