Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Greater Cabarrus S's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Greater Cabarrus S had won five straight home games and Teddy Helton III did his part to make it six on Thursday. The Greater Cabarrus S Stallions blew past the Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots 82-37 thanks in part to Helton III, who posted 21 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Surry HomeSchool's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heath Clark, who scored 15 points. Clark continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Weddle, who put up 11 points.

Greater Cabarrus S has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Surry HomeSchool, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-24 record this season.

Greater Cabarrus S wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-62 defeat against Oak Ridge Military Academy on the 7th. As for Surry HomeSchool, they will welcome NC H at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
