Softball Recap: Weston Trojans vs. Bethel Wildcats

Weston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Bethel Wildcats, falling 12-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 10-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ashley McCain made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Liao, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Weston's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Bethel, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weston will face off against Stratford at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bethel, they will square off against New Milford at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
