Basketball Recap: Cuthbertson Comes Up Short

Cuthbertson played against Lake Norman on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Lake Norman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josh Yates led the charge by putting up 20 points and three steals. Yates is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tre McKinnon, who posted 21 points and seven boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Cuthbertson and nudges their season record down to 14-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Lake Norman, they pushed their record up to 26-1 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Cuthbertson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Norman, they have already played their next matchup, an 85-63 victory against Hopewell on the 28th.
