Softball Recap: Tri-Central Comes Up Short

Tri-Central extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-5 in the process. They lost 7-1 to the Daleville Broncos. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

As for Daleville, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games.

For Daleville's part, they let Raegan Jackson and Valyn Pattengale run wild. Jackson went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Pattengale went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Malone, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Daleville beat Tri-Central by a score of 13-3 later that day.
