Preview: Beauregard Hornets vs. LaFayette Bulldogs
The Beauregard Hornets will head out on the road to take on the LaFayette Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Beauregard focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 44 on Friday.
Beauregard suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Valley by a score of 44-42.
Despite their loss, Beauregard saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kelise Culbertson, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Lay Clark, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, LaFayette ended up a good deal behind Lanett on Friday and lost 43-28. While losing is never fun, LaFayette can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Lanett is ranked 93rd).
Beauregard's record is now 6-9. LaFayette's record is now 5-10.
Beauregard came up short against LaFayette in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 34-27. Can Beauregard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
