Basketball Recap: Ramona Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy on Tuesday, Ramona came back down to earth. The Rams took a 79-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Bear Bears on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Ramona still got an impressive performance from Garrett Pickens, who posted 28 points along with eight assists and eight steals. Pickens has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was JJ Tibbels, who scored 16 points and six rebounds.

Savion Sorapuru had an outrageously good game for Big Bear as he dropped a double-double with 30 points and 12 boards. Those 30 points gave Sorapuru a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Barden, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Ramona's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Big Bear, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Ramona won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Woodcrest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Big Bear, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m.
