Volleyball Recap: Lake of the Woods Comes Up Short

Lake of the Woods was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Badger/Greenbush-Middle River Gators. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered since September 2nd.

Lake of the Woods was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Badger/Greenbush-Middle River work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-16, 25-15.

Danika Lucek paced Lake of the Woods' offense, picking up 13 kills. Lucek really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14. Kendal Bowman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Lake of the Woods' defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Badger/Greenbush-Middle River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake of the Woods will square off against Thief River Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Badger/Greenbush-Middle River, they will challenge Goodridge/Grygla at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
