Moline and Geneseo are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Maroons will welcome the Maple Leafs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Moline's win against Quincy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Maroons won by a run and slipped past the Blue Devils 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Maroons have posted since May 10, 2024.

Kayley Reynolds made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Dennis, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Lana Edkin also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Geneseo got the win against Galesburg on Thursday by a conclusive 21-2. The result was nothing new for the Maple Leafs, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kendyl Wassenhove looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Geneseo got a massive performance out of Avery Kennedy, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Kennedy has posted since back in April. Jaylee Brudos was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Geneseo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .654. They are a perfect 15-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Geneseo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Moline, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-14.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Moline hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Geneseo struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
