Volleyball Recap: Starpoint Spartans vs. St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders
After flying high against St. Francis two weeks ago, Starpoint came back down to earth. The Starpoint Spartans lost 3-0 to the St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders on Monday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Marauders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
While Starpoint had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-20.
St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute can attribute much of their success to Rowan Root, who had 18 digs.
Starpoint's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2-1 record this season.
