Softball Recap: Crosby Drops Season-High Score on Splendora

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crosby). Everything went their way against the Splendora Wildcats on Friday as the Crosby Cougars made off with a 17-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the game before.

Mackenzie Ross was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Daniel, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

Crosby was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Crosby pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Splendora, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Crosby Cougars take on Kingwood Park Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Splendora, they will take on Dayton at 6:00 p.m. on March 14th.
