Basketball Recap: Tavorus Dunn Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat West Craven

Eastern Wayne won the last time they faced West Craven and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the Eastern Wayne Warriors' way against the West Craven Eagles as the Eastern Wayne Warriors made off with a 68-48 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Eastern Wayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tavorus Dunn led the charge by putting up 19 points. That's the most points Dunn has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Bailey, who posted 13 points.

Eastern Wayne's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. As for West Craven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Wayne will venture away from home to take on Princeton at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. One thing working in Eastern Wayne's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for West Craven, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Greene Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greene Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.3 points per game this season.
