Basketball Recap: Palisade Bulldogs vs. Delta Panthers
While Palisade didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They managed a 55-51 win over the Delta Panthers on Tuesday. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 64-53 loss the last time these two teams met.
Hunter Howard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 for 18 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of LJ Ballenger, who posted 13 points.
Palisade was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delta only racked up seven assists.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JP Gallegos, who had 17 points. Palisade's record now sits at 6-4. As for Delta, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Palisade wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-64 defeat against Eagle Valley on the 9th. As for Delta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-47 loss against Centauri on the 10th.
