Softball Game Preview: Norwood Pirates vs. Conway Bears

Norwood has gone a perfect 6-0 against Conway recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 4:30 p.m. Conway took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Norwood, who comes in off a win.

Norwood saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Plato.

Conway couldn't beat Pleasant Hope on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fifth inning. The Bears came up short against the Pirates, falling 20-11. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Conway saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyson Barker, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Barker continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another was Kirsten Keck, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Conway's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Norwood, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Norwood got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Conway by a conclusive 17-0 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
