Softball Game Preview: Rushville Lions vs. Greensburg Pirates

The Rushville Lions will head out to take on the Greensburg Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Rushville has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Greensburg will come in with four straight wins.

Rushville couldn't beat East Central on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Lions lost 18-8 to the Trojans.

Meanwhile, Greensburg got themselves on the board against Lawrenceburg on Saturday, but Lawrenceburg never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 2-0.

Greensburg's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rushville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Rushville might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Greensburg in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
