Soccer Game Preview: Kendrick vs. Shaw

The Kendrick Cherokees will head out on the road to take on the Shaw Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kendrick's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Kendrick's offense. They came up short against Columbus two weeks ago, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Kendrick can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 461st, while Columbus are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Shaw made sure to put some goals up on the board against Jordan on Tuesday. They blew past the Red Jackets 11-1. The result was nothing new for Shaw, who have now won six games by four goals or more so far this season.

Shaw now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kendrick, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Kendrick might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Shaw in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can the Cherokees avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
