Softball Recap: Colts Neck Takes a Loss

Colts Neck fell victim to Middletown North and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Colts Neck and nudges their season record down to 2-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-1 Red Bank Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 82.9% over those games). As for Middletown North, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Colts Neck wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-4 defeat against Marlboro on the 16th. As for Middletown North, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-0 loss against Red Bank Catholic on the 16th.
