Baseball Recap: HCYA Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

HCYA had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They never let the West Houston HomeSchool Thunder get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. Considering HCYA has won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

James Norman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Welch, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyde Tracy, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

HCYA always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Houston HomeSchool only posted an OBP of .381.

HCYA's record is now 22-13. As for West Houston HomeSchool, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

HCYA will head out to face off against Houston Christian on Thursday. West Houston HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
