Volleyball Recap: Davison Falls Despite Big Games from Adelynn Wilcox and Makayla Naves

The Davison Cardinals didn't have quite enough to beat the St. Francis Gladiators on Saturday and fell 2-1. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Davison started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-19, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Davison had strong showings from Makayla Naves, who had 12 digs and two aces, and Adelynn Wilcox, who had seven digs and one assist. Naves has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Davison's defeat dropped their record down to 18-3. As for St. Francis, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-11.

Davison has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Stevenson on the 11th. As for St. Francis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Mt. Pleasant on the 11th.
