Softball Recap: Afton Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

After losing to Unatego the last time they met, Afton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Knights walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Spartans on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly five runs.

Afton pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Unatego, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Afton is set to challenge their familiar foe Sidney at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Unatego will take on rival Delaware Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
