Recap: McIntosh Demons vs. Fruitdale Pirates
The McIntosh Demons had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fruitdale 60-7 on the road. The result was nothing new for McIntosh, who have now won three contests by 36 points or more so far this season.
McIntosh got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brittney Reed Jr. out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Reed Jr. has scored at least 25% of McIntosh's points. Dristen Sullivan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
McIntosh's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Fruitdale, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McIntosh will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Alabama School of Math & Science at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Alabama School of Math & Science will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 399th, while McIntosh is ranked 103rd). As for Fruitdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
