Volleyball Recap: Anthony Elliano and Aarav Modi Secure Win for Trumbull

Trumbull is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Darien on Thursday, but Darien came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Eagles came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Blue Wave. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since May 15, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (108-105) Trumbull actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-23, 17-25, 25-21, 22-25, 16-14.

Leading Trumbull to victory were Aarav Modi and Anthony Elliano. Modi had 18 digs and five assists, while Elliano had 12 assists and six digs. Those six digs gave Elliano a new career-high. Isaiah Vega also deserves some recognition as he had his first blocks of the season.

Trumbull's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Darien, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5.

Trumbull has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Staples on the 3rd. As for Darien, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against McMahon on the 3rd.
