Volleyball Game Preview: Fletcher Senators vs. Fleming Island Golden Eagles

Fletcher is 2-7 against Fleming Island since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Senators will take on the Golden Eagles in a tournament on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Fletcher sitting on 15 straight victories and Fleming Island on five.

Fletcher's tournament run continued when they took on Baldwin on Friday. The Senators came out on top against the Indians by a score of 2-0.

Fletcher can attribute much of their success to Ashton Kirton, who had eight digs and six aces. With that strong performance, Kirton is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Fleming Island faced off against Spruce Creek on Friday. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 2-0 win over the Hawks.

Fleming Island's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Fletcher, their win bumped their record up to 17-1.

Fletcher couldn't quite get it done against Fleming Island in their previous matchup back in August as they fell 3-1. Can the Senators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
