Baseball Game Preview: Midlothian Panthers vs. Denton Broncos

The Midlothian Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Denton Broncos at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Midlothian's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Denton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Midlothian saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 6-3 to Arlington. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Denton earned a 6-1 victory over Bowie on Saturday. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Volunteers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jackson Andoga tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Derek Perez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot for a while, having also posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Jacob Turner also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen bases of the season.

Midlothian's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Denton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2-2.
