Volleyball Recap: Otay Ranch Comes Up Short

If Otay Ranch was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Olympian on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Eastlake Titans on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Wednesday.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 22-25, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Otay Ranch still got an impressive performance from Gavin Cosico, who had 18 digs. Cosico has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times he's played.

Otay Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 16-19. As for Eastlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-13 record this season.

Otay Ranch will take on Scripps Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
