Volleyball Recap: The Cambridge School Comes Up Short

After flying high against Logan Memorial Education Campus last Tuesday, The Cambridge School came back down to earth. The Griffins came up short against the Southwest SD Raiders on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-13.

Paloma Lopez had an outrageously good game for Southwest SD as she had 14 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Lopez a new career-high in assists (19). Another player making a difference was Sofia Beltran, who had eight digs and eight assists.

The Cambridge School's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Southwest SD, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

The Cambridge School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Mountain Empire on the 24th. After both having extra time off, Southwest SD and San Ysidro will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on October 2.
