Basketball Recap: Claire Friedman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Flatirons Academy over Heritage Christian

If Flatirons Academy was riding high fresh off their 59-26 takedown of Bishop Machebeuf last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Flatirons Academy Bison lost 52-32 to the Heritage Christian Eagles on Tuesday. The Bison have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Claire Friedman, who posted nine points. Sophie Rabus also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

Flatirons Academy's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for Heritage Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Flatirons Academy will welcome Estes Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flatirons Academy is facing Estes Park at the right time seeing as Estes Park is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Heritage Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-17 win against Gilpin County on the 23rd.
