Game recap

LECANTO, Fla. - Crystal River (Fla.) and Lecanto (Fla.) both received superb games from their defenses, but Crystal River was able to break through the stalemate for a 14-7 win.

The Pirates scored on a kick return and a passing touchdown to notch the "W".

The lead that Crystal River took on a touchdown pass by Collin Ryan to Antonio Franklin with 9:00 left in the second quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.

Lecanto's only touchdown came on an 11-yard pass from Travis McGee to Matt McKibbin in the second quarter.

When the two teams played each other last season, CR came away with a 28-25 victory.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Pirates, who lost to South Sumter last week, 38-0. The loss comes after Lecanto defeated Wesley Chapel 10-6 last week. The loss ended Lecanto's two-game winning streak.
