Soccer Game Preview: Granite Bay vs. Jesuit

The Granite Bay Grizzlies are taking a road trip to square off against the Jesuit Marauders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Granite Bay's last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Granite Bay is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Davis Sr. on Thursday. Granite Bay fell just short of Davis Sr. by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Folsom. That's two games in a row now that the Marauders have lost by just one goal.

Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-5. As for Granite Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-4.

Granite Bay beat Jesuit 2-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Granite Bay since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
