St. John has gone a perfect 10-0 against Elizabeth Seton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cadets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Roadrunners at 5:00 p.m. St. John's will be strutting in after a victory while Elizabeth Seton will be coming in after a defeat.

St. John's is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Archbishop Carroll, who was ranked 24th at the time (St. John's was ranked 19th). The Cadets blew past the Lions 3-0 on Wednesday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant St. John's was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-10, 25-4.

St. John's can attribute much of their success to Gabrielle Deutz, who had 15 assists and four aces. That's the most assists Deutz has posted since back in October of 2024. Beatrice Bradburn also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: St. John's was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Seton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against The Academy of the Holy Cross, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-13, 25-10.

St. John's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Elizabeth Seton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

St. John's took their victory against Elizabeth Seton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Cadets repeat their success, or do the Roadrunners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
