Basketball Game Preview: Chambersburg Trojans vs. Altoona Mountain Lions

The Chambersburg Trojans will face off against the Altoona Mountain Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Chambersburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Pennsylvania's top teams: Central Dauphin, who was ranked 18th at the time (Chambersburg was ranked 20th). Chambersburg fell 59-48 to Central Dauphin on Wednesday. The Trojans have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Meanwhile, Altoona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Carlisle 71-43. The Mountain Lions were down 57-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Altoona's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Chambersburg, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-4.

Everything came up roses for Chambersburg against Altoona in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 61-32 victory. Does Chambersburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Altoona turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
