Baseball Game Preview: Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes vs. Campbell County Cougars

The Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes will be taking part in a tournament against the Campbell County Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Morristown-Hamblen East will be strutting in after a win while Campbell County will be coming in after a defeat.

Morristown-Hamblen East is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since April 20, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Northeast.

Landry Winstead and Isaac Greene did most of the damage at the plate: Winstead scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Greene scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Greene has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Setsor, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Campbell County fell victim to Carter and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Green Hornets, falling 22-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Green Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Campbell County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Ford, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Ford hit this season.

Morristown-Hamblen East's victory bumped their record up to 2-6-1. As for Campbell County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Morristown-Hamblen East's way against Campbell County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Morristown-Hamblen East made off with an 18-4 win.
