Baseball Recap: Fort Collins Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mountain View

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Collins). They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Mountain View Mountain Lions on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Evan Gaschler looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Oliver Stanevich was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Souders, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Fort Collins has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Fort Collins will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mountain Vista at 4:00 p.m. As for Mountain View, they will venture away from home to square off against Loveland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
