Baseball Recap: Hubbard Comes Up Short

Hubbard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Little Village Phoenix. The Greyhounds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Phoenix earlier this season, when they won 12-2.

Thiago Monarrez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Juan Cahue, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Hubbard's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11-1. As for Little Village, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Hubbard will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Juarez on the 26th. Little Village has already played their next matchup (against Clark), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
