Baseball Game Preview: Horton Chargers vs. Atchison County Tigers

Horton is 0-4 against Atchison County since April of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Chargers will challenge the Tigers. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Horton is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Jackson Heights, falling 18-5.

Meanwhile, Atchison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-1 to Hiawatha. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly seven runs.

Atchison County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Bottorff, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Horton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Atchison County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Horton suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Atchison County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
