Basketball Recap: Haddon Township Comes Up Short

Haddon Township entered their contest against Haddonfield on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Haddon Township Hawks fell just short of the Haddonfield Bulldawgs by a score of 37-34. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldawgs earlier this season, when they won 39-33.

When it comes to explaining why Haddon Township lost, don't look at Alli Kamulda. Despite the final result, she went 7 for 15 on her way to 17 points and four steals. Kamulda is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Martin, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Haddon Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Haddon Township's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for Haddonfield, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haddon Township and Gateway Regional will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Haddonfield, they will be playing at home against West Deptford at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
